Boston Liquor Licenses for Sale – From Logan Airport!

Liquor LicenseMassachusetts Bill’s Passing Frees up more Boston Licenses

Just signed by Governor Deval Patrick this week – H. 99, “An Act Authorizing The Licensing Board For The City of Boston To Grant Restricted Airport Licenses For The Sale Of All Alcoholic Beverages and For The Sale Of Wines And Malt Beverages At Logan International Airport”

What does this mean?

Following the enactment of this legislation, the licenses currently issued for use within the Passenger Terminals will be replaced with a “Restricted Airport License.” The licensees may freely transfer (or sell) their current license during the specific transfer period.  If the license is not transferred within the transfer period then the license will be revoked by the city.

We have been advising airport licensees about H.99 for some time and have been working with them to develop a strategy to sell their licenses.  ALB has been successful in identifying qualified buyers and has facilitated agreements on licenses prior to the passage of the bill.
